Calin Lazaroiu is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in research and academia. Currently serving as a Maria Zambrano Fellow at UNED since February 2022, Calin is also a Senior Researcher First Degree (Professor) at the Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering since March 2020. Previous roles include Senior Research Fellow and Senior Scientist at the IBS Center for Geometry and Physics & POSTECH from February 2013 to February 2020, where research focused on string theory and supergravity. Prior to that, Calin held positions as a Senior Researcher at the same institute from October 2010 to February 2013, and as a Lecturer (tenured Assistant Professor) at Trinity College Dublin from January 2005 to October 2011. Calin's early career involved post-doctoral research roles at the Institute for Advanced Study, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Humboldt University, and Stony Brook University, specializing in string theory. Calin earned a PhD in Physics from Columbia University and a BS in Physics from the University of Bucharest.
