Brit Finucci is an experienced fisheries scientist currently working at NIWA since July 2018. Prior roles include postdoctoral research associate at Charles Darwin University from September 2017 to February 2018, fisheries analyst at NIWA from March 2017 to August 2017, and research assistant at Victoria University of Wellington from December 2014 to December 2016. Earlier experience includes serving as a senior photographer at GS1 New Zealand from November 2012 to September 2013. Brit Finucci holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Marine Sciences from Victoria University of Wellington, a Master's in Marine Conservation from the same university, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honours in Zoology, Spanish, and Environmental Anthropology from the University of Toronto. Additional education includes a Certificate in Digital Photography from George Brown College and participation in a study abroad program in Spanish and Iberian Studies at Universidad de Guadalajara.
