Ruban Jayathas

Ruban Jayathas has over 20 years of work experience in various roles. Ruban began their career as a Senior Editor at Thirdeye Productions and later joined Telestar as a Senior Editor, specializing in editing commercials and documentaries. Ruban then moved on to VFX Headquarters as a Director, involved in producing AV productions for advertising agencies and clients.

In 2003, Ruban became a Visiting Lecturer at the Academy of Design Sri Lanka (AOD), teaching computer software to aspiring interior, fashion, and graphic designers. Ruban instructed students on the use of Adobe software and 3D rendering.

Ruban co-founded Adventure Lanka Tours in 2004 and handled the SEO, lead generation, and operations for the inbound travel agency. The company focuses on tailor-made holidays in Sri Lanka with a commitment to responsible tourism.

From 2011 to 2015, Ruban served as the Chief Technology Officer at WowApp, where they handpicked and managed a team of engineers. Ruban utilized Kanban and Scrum principles to ensure quick software delivery while maintaining code quality.

Currently, Ruban is the Chief Technology Officer at Nobel, Ltd, overseeing the software team and building high-performing teams that deliver high-quality code. Ruban develops processes that meet internal workflow requirements while adhering to Agile principles.

Ruban Jayathas pursued a Master's degree in Computing from The Open University, specializing in Computer Science, from 2020 to 2023. Prior to that, they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Wales, focusing on Business Administration and Management, General, during the academic year 2006-2007. In addition to their formal education, Ruban has also completed various certifications related to software product management and agile practices from Coursera. These certifications include "Agile Planning for Software Products," "Client Needs and Software Requirements," "Reviews & Metrics for Software Improvements," "Software Processes and Agile Practices," and "Introduction to Software Product Management." The specific dates of completion vary, but all the certifications were obtained in 2017. Ruban has also completed the "Software Product Management Capstone" and "Software Product Management Specialization" courses, although the month and year of completion are not provided.
