Eric Barrett

Eric Barrett has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Eric currently works as an Engineering Manager at Noble Gas Systems, where they focus on developing innovative conformable hydrogen gas storage systems. Eric collaborates with a small team of talented professionals in a creative environment that allows for hands-on design, development, prototyping, and testing.

Before joining Noble Gas Systems, Eric spent a significant portion of their career at Ford Motor Company. From 2016 to 2021, they served as a Program Integration Manager for the Battery Electric Vehicle program, and earlier, they were the Wheels, Tires, and Hydraulic Steering Manager. In these roles, Eric managed global engineering teams and promoted crucial technical and professional skill sets to enable cohesive engineering delivery across different regions. Eric also worked closely with the Studio to deliver exciting wheels for cars and trucks.

Prior to their managerial roles, Eric held the position of Chassis Engineering Supervisor from 2003 to 2014 at Ford. In this role, they led a strong engineering team responsible for designing suspension components for cars and trucks. This included shocks, springs, stabars, subframes, full frames, control arms, bushings, skid plates, heat shields, and tow hooks. Eric's experience included APQP, project management, global supply chain management, cost and weight trade-off, and launches.

Eric started their career at Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 1987 as a Structures Design Engineer. Eric was involved in the design and release of commercial airplane wing and floor structures, primarily using Catia. Eric also performed stress analysis, ultimate strength testing, and fatigue testing on the structures.

Eric Barrett completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University from 1983 to 1987. Eric further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution between 2000 and 2002.
