Associate Validation Scientist at Nodexus

Brenda Gonzalez has a diverse work experience beginning in 2015. Brenda began as a Watershed Intern at the Solano County Water Agency, where they worked with Federal, State and Local officials on the prevention of invasive species, provided educational outreach to the boating and recreating community, managed inventory and restocked supplies, acted as lead to manage a team of 8, assisted with development of educational outreach materials, and educated and informed over 3000 people on water quality. In 2016, they became a Student Ambassador and Student Researcher at California State University-Sacramento, where they conducted independent research on the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in gram-negative bacterial biofilms, prepared MIC assays, determined appropriate antibiotic regimens, collected and interpreted data, and prepared a poster presentation with results/findings, methodologies, and conclusions. In 2017, they worked as an Air Resources Technician at the California Air Resources Board and a Student Researcher at the University of Utah, where they assisted in professors' research labs investigating the functional role of nutrient transporters in model organisms, conducted scientific literature searches, and performed daily laboratory procedures. In 2019, they became a Bioprocess Technician at Genentech, where they assisted in the Upstream Manufacturing department cultivating cell culture in preparation for therapeutic drug production, complied with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and used automation to perform production and equipment operations. Finally, in 2020, they became a Cell Engineer Specialist and Research Associate at Synthego Corporation, and in 2022, they became an Associate Validation Scientist at Nodexus Inc.

Brenda Gonzalez earned their Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from California State University-Sacramento between 2012 and 2018.
