Director Of Partnerships And Strategy at Nord Quantique

Michel Pioro-Ladrière has a wide range of work experience in the field of quantum technology. Michel is currently the Director of Partnerships and Strategy at Nord Quantique, a role they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Nord Quantique from April 2020 to January 2023.

Before joining Nord Quantique, Michel worked at the Université de Sherbrooke. Their roles there included being a Professor, a position they held from June 2019 to January 2023. Michel was also the Director of Baccalauréat des sciences de l'information quantique at the Faculty of Sciences, a position they held until September 2023. Michel co-led the successful NSERC Alliance Quantum Consortium grant proposal during their tenure at the university. Michel also held positions as an Associate Professor from June 2014 to May 2019 and as an Assistant Professor from June 2009 to May 2014, where they jumpstarted the first quantum computing research program in Canada using components found in today's computers.

Additionally, Michel has served on boards and advisory roles in various organizations. Michel is a Mitacs Research Council (MRC) Member since April 2023. Michel has been a Board Member at CMC Microsystems since October 2020. Michel also served as an Evaluation Group Member at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) from February 2022 to February 2023. Michel was a Quantum Technology Advisory Board Member at Archer Materials Limited from March 2021 to January 2023.

In the past, Michel was a part of the Scientific Advisory Board at Anyon Systems Inc. from 2015 to 2017. Michel also worked as a Researcher at Japan Science and Technology, where they led the lateral quantum dots effort within the ICORP Quantum Spin project from July 2005 to April 2009.

Michel Pioro-Ladrière pursued their education in physics at the Université de Sherbrooke. From 1997 to 1999, they obtained their Bachelor's of Sciences in Physics. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree from 2000 to 2002 in the same field. Their educational journey culminated in the achievement of a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics from 2002 to 2005.
