Evgeny Yakushev

Evgeny Yakushev is a seasoned researcher in marine chemistry with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving at NIVA since 2007, Evgeny focuses on mathematical modeling and the chemical and biological processes that impact nutrients such as C, N, O, P, and S, as well as issues related to anoxia in aquatic environments and ocean acidification. Prior to this role, Evgeny led the laboratory at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 1999 to 2008 and held various scientific positions there from 1984 to 1998. Evgeny holds a Dr.Sc. in Oceanology from the Shirshov Institute and a Ph.D. in Oceanology from the same institution, complemented by an M.Sc. in Oceanography from Moscow State University.
