Thomas Rundberget is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in analytical chemistry, currently employed at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) since November 2012. In this role, Rundberget focuses on identifying emerging contaminants within ecosystems and has developed professional expertise in LC-MS and LC-MS/MS techniques for detecting biotoxins and environmental pollutants. Prior to NIVA, Rundberget worked at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute from January 1996 to November 2012, where research centered on the relationships between mould, mycotoxins, algae, and algal toxins in the environment. Rundberget holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, completed between 1999 and 2002, and a Cand Scient degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oslo, obtained from 1994 to 1996.
