Brett Sturm

Brett Sturm is a skilled Restoration Specialist at the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with a focus on providing technical assistance for historic building owners and promoting adaptive reuse through tax credit programs since October 2017. Previous experience includes co-owning I Street Studio as a ceramic artist, managing preservation-oriented projects at Hanson Fine Building & Preservation, and serving as a Sardegna Post-Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where Brett organized a field course in brick conservation. An early career included internships in historic preservation and teaching English in Germany. Brett earned a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
