Tommy Mattocks

Tommy Mattocks has a diverse work experience in various communication and policy roles. Tommy worked as a Communications Director for the North Carolina Democratic Party in 2023. Previously, they served as a Senior Press Representative at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from 2022 to 2023. Tommy also worked as the Director of Communications at the Aerospace Industries Association from 2021 to 2022.

Tommy has a background in political communications, having worked in multiple roles at the U.S. House of Representatives. Tommy served as a Communications Director from 2020 to 2021, a Press Secretary from 2019 to 2020, and a Media Logistics Assistant from 2018 to 2019.

Prior to their work in politics, Tommy held positions at POLITICO as an Editorial Operations Specialist and Editorial Coordinator from 2016 to 2018. Tommy also worked as a Public Policy Coordinator at the ASCB (American Society for Cell Biology) in 2016.

Tommy began their career as a press intern for Senator Maria Cantwell in 2016 and later served as a press intern for Senator Tom Carper in 2015. Tommy also has experience in governmental affairs as the SGA Director of Governmental Affairs at Appalachian State University from 2014 to 2015.

Additionally, Tommy has experience in entertainment as a Character Performer at Walt Disney World from 2010 to 2012.
