Cpc Gena Renfrow

Gena Renfrow, CPC, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development. Currently serving as a Special Assistant in Clean Energy Communications & Stakeholder Engagement for the North Carolina Department of Commerce since March 2021, Gena provides executive support and serves as a liaison for the NC TOWERS offshore wind taskforce. Previously, Gena co-led the implementation of an employee engagement survey at the Department of Commerce and created a career coaching program for the State of NC Internship Program. Gena also runs a coaching business, Next Coaching, supporting individuals across various career stages. Past roles include Public Information Officer at the North Carolina Department of Administration, NC Administrator for the Biogen Foundation, and Director of Communications at BCBSNC, among others. Gena holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and additional certifications in business coaching and HR mediation.
