April also has an associate's degree in library information technology from Cuesta College and a bachelor's degree in international security and conflict resolution, Asian studies from San Diego State University. April has a certificate in cultural competence from San Diego State University and has completed summer programs in criminal justice at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Asian studies at Dai hoc Quoc Gia Hànôi. April has also completed a winter program in human health services at PSG College of Technology and a certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Oxford Seminars.
