Emily Lake

Emily Lake is an experienced mathematics educator with a diverse background in teaching at various levels of education. Currently serving as a Virtual High School Math Teacher at North Carolina Virtual Public School since July 2019, Emily creates engaging daily announcements and provides individualized feedback to students. Previous positions include roles as a Math Teacher at West Brunswick High School, South Brunswick Middle School, and Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy, as well as an Upward Bound Math Coach at Hope College. Notably, Emily presented at the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics on Lesson Study. Emily began their career as a Teaching Intern at Kentwood Public Schools and an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Michigan State University, where a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics was earned.
