Dr. Ana Fuhrer has had an extensive career in the field of education. Dr. Ana began their career as a Teacher in the Chicago Public Schools in 1994 and continued in this role until 2001. From 2001 to 2004, they worked as a Teacher in the Gurnee School District 56. In 2004, Dr. Fuhrer joined the Woodland Consolidated School District 50 in Gurnee, IL, where they held various positions, including Assistant Director of Summer School, Assistant Principal, Director of Summer School, and Associate Principal. Dr. Ana then moved to Round Lake Area Schools CUSD 116 in 2011 and served as a Principal until 2015, before being promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, a role they held until 2018. Since 2018, Dr. Fuhrer has been working at North Chicago District 187, initially serving as the Principal at Evelyn Alexander and currently holding the position of Chief Academic Officer.

Dr. Ana Fuhrer completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching with a minor in Spanish at the University of Illinois Chicago from 1990 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at Northeastern University from 2002 to 2005. Dr. Fuhrer later obtained their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University Chicago between 2010 and 2013. In addition to their degrees, they earned a Superintendent Endorsement certification from Concordia University Chicago in May 2013.
