Shane Harkins has over 25 years of experience in information technology and leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the Chief Information Officer at North Dallas Bank & Trust Co. Prior to that, they worked at Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas as the VP and Director of Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure for over 12 years. Shane managed a team responsible for designing and maintaining the technology infrastructure supporting the bank's operations. Before that, they worked at Ash Brokerage as the Director of Technology Solutions, where they oversaw the daily operations of the corporate infrastructure. Shane also served as the VP and Director of Information Technology at Marsh Private Client Life Insurance Services, where they were responsible for active directory architecture, network engineering, server maintenance, and document management. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Technical Consultant at Enterprise Computing Solutions, focusing on designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure and security systems. Shane also served as the Manager of Corporate Network Engineering at Epicor Software, where they managed network engineering teams and designed and implemented technical solutions for critical business operations.
Shane Harkins earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology with a Security emphasis from Western Governors University, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. Shane has obtained several additional certifications, including the SASE Advanced Security, SASE Business Impact and Strategy, SASE Deployment and Management, SASE Expert Level 1, SASE Expert Level 2, and SSE Expert Certification from Cato Networks in 2023. In 2018, they obtained the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification from (ISC)². Prior to that, in 2017 and 2018, they earned the Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) and Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certifications from Cisco. In 2018, they also obtained the CompTIA Project+ Certification and the Project+ certification from CompTIA. Other certifications include the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician from Cisco in 2017, the CompTIA A+ ce certification from CompTIA in 2016, and various Microsoft certifications, such as the Microsoft Specialist, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, obtained between 2011 and 2015. Additionally, they obtained the CISSP certification from (ISC)² in 2012.
