Tariq Abbas has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on reservoir engineering and field development planning. Tariq began their career with Baker Hughes in 1991 as a Unit Manager and Field Engineer, and later moved to Schlumberger as a Senior Reservoir Engineer. In 1998, Tariq joined BP as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, where they managed operations and conducted simulation studies for the EoS Asset. Tariq then worked at Saudi Aramco as a Reservoir Engineer Specialist, leading integrated field development simulation studies for large-scale projects. Tariq's experience continued at Maersk Oil, where they served as a Subsurface Lead and Lead Reservoir Engineer, overseeing the integration of surface and subsurface field development planning. Tariq then joined Halliburton as a Technical Project Manager, managing a team of technical experts and optimizing reservoir management for the Hassi Messaoud Field. Currently, Tariq works at North Oil Company Qatar as the Head of Field Development Planning, overseeing the endorsement of future subsurface developments and integrating new subsurface development areas with drilling schedules and facility upgrades.
Tariq Abbas attended Stockport Grammar School from 1979 to 1986. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London from 1986 to 1990.
