Reon Nel

Reon Nel is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the mining industry, currently serving as a Section Engineer at Northam Platinum since August 2021. Previously, Reon held engineering roles at Sibanye-Stillwater from August 2017 to July 2021, where responsibilities included positions as both Engineer and Junior Engineer. Prior to that, Reon worked as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Sibanye Platinum and Aquarius Platinum, completing the Engineer in Training program from April 2016 to July 2017 and December 2014 to March 2016, respectively. Early in the career, Reon gained experience as a Student Engineer at Xstrata Alloys in late 2009. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, attained between 2009 and 2014, following the completion of the National Senior Certificate at Hoërskool Bergsig from 2004 to 2008.
