Fred Muldowney-Brooks

Vice President, Risk Services at Northbridge Financial Corporation

Fred Muldowney-Brooks has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Starting in 1988, they worked as a Personal Lines Underwriter for Phoenix Continental Insurance. Fred then joined Continental Insurance as a Loss Control Representative from 1991 to 1997. After that, they worked at Lombard Canada Ltd as a Senior Loss Control Representative from 1997 to 2010. In 2011, they took on the role of Team Leader and Specialist in Risk Control & Technical Services at Lombard Canada Ltd until the end of the year. From 2011 to 2017, they worked at Northbridge Insurance as the Director of Risk Services & Solutions, Director of Risk Services Solutions, and finally as the Vice President of Risk Services and Property & Casualty Solutions. In 2017, they joined Northbridge Financial Corporation as the Vice President of Risk Services, where they currently lead a team of risk consultants and the Risk Services Solutions team.

Fred Muldowney-Brooks has a diverse education history. Fred attended Trinity College School from 1974 to 1980, where they earned a High School Honours Diploma. In 1987 and 1988, they studied Geography and Statistics at Wilfrid Laurier University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree. Fred furthered their education at the University of Toronto from 1990 to 1992, focusing on Canadian Risk Management and earning a C.R.M. diploma. From 1986 to 1993, Fred pursued certification as a Certified Insurance Professional (C.I.P) at the Insurance Institute of Canada. In 2005, they attended RIMS to enhance their knowledge in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and management. Fred also participated in various short courses, including "Leadership for the Future" and "Winning Collaborations" at the Schulich School of Business - York University in 2011 and 2012. Recently, in 2021, they obtained additional certifications in Executive Leadership, Strategic Thinking, and Learning Data Governance from LinkedIn.
