Ray Taylor

Ray Taylor's work experience begins in 1984 as a Technical Sergeant in the US Air Force. Ray served in various roles within the Air Force, including Combat Engineering and Honors and Ceremonies Noncommissioned Officer. In 1995, they transitioned to Officer Training School.

After leaving the military, Taylor worked as a Manpower/Quality Consultant for the 86th Airlift Wing and as an Executive Management Consultant at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. In these roles, they facilitated strategic planning, process engineering, and performance measurement.

Taylor then joined Air Mobility Command in Scott AFB, IL as a Senior Staff Officer. Ray was responsible for identifying and eliminating excess personnel and served as a public spokesman for the Department of Defense and the Air Force.

In 2000, Taylor attended the Executive Leadership Training program at The George Washington University and The Pentagon, where they interacted with high-ranking military and government officials.

From 2002 to 2005, Taylor worked at the United States Air Force Academy as an Aide de Camp to the Superintendent and as an Air Officer Commanding.

In 2005, Taylor joined Walmart as an Internal Consultant for Executive Development. Ray later held roles such as Senior Manager, Sr. Project Manager, Market Manager, and Director of Talent Development. Ray was responsible for training and development initiatives and played a role in designing a five-year strategy for Human Resources at Walmart.

Most recently, Taylor has been working at Northwest Arkansas Community College as the Director of Construction Technology and Building Sciences since 2019. Ray is responsible for designing and delivering building sciences programs and has added a new program combining construction, art, and drafting disciplines.

Ray Taylor has a diverse education history. Ray obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1988. Prior to that, they earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in 1984, specializing in Construction Technology and Instructor of Technology and Military Science. Ray also completed an MBA degree in Management from Wayland Baptist University between 1992 and 1994. Ray later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Organizational Management from The George Washington University, graduating in 2002. In addition to their formal education, Ray has obtained various certifications including Design Thinking for Innovation from Coursera, Master Trainer certification from NCCER, and OSHA certifications related to construction safety and health.
