Edward Garcia has a diverse work experience with a focus on community development and organizing. Edward started their career in 2012 as a Youth Organizer at the Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition (NWBCCC) before moving on to become a Housing Justice Organizer. Edward then became a Program Coordinator for the Landlord Ambassador Program and later a Lead Community Organizer in the Community Development department. In 2021, Edward was promoted to Director of Community Development before eventually becoming the Co-Director of Organizing in May 2022 at NWBCCC. In addition to their work at NWBCCC, Edward also worked as a Tutor at Kingsbridge International High School from 2012 to 2014. Edward also has experience as a Community Interpreter & Consultant, and as an Interpreter Collaborator at Caracol Language Coop from 2019 to 2020, where they worked to promote language justice and eliminate communication barriers.
Edward Garcia has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in Community Change Studies from The City College of New York. Additionally, they have completed a Community Organizing program at ANHD - Center for Neighborhood Leadership.
