Shanel Jones

Shanel Jones has extensive experience in the field of education, with a focus on leadership roles. Shanel is currently serving as the Principal at Northwest ISD since July 2023, following their role as Assistant Principal from July 2021 to July 2023. Before this, they worked at All Saints' Episcopal School as the Lower School Assistant Division Head from July 2019 to July 2021. Prior to that, they held various positions at Keller ISD, including Assistant Principal from June 2016 to June 2019, Assistant Principal Intern from June 2015 to June 2016, and 4th Grade Teacher from August 2013 to June 2015. Shanel also worked as a Reading Teacher at The Ron Clark Academy from July 2012 to June 2013, and as an English as a Second Language Campus Lead Teacher at Mansfield ISD from August 2011 to June 2012. Shanel started their career in education as a Kindergarten Teacher at Mansfield ISD from August 2010 to June 2011.

Shanel Jones obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of North Texas in 2010. Shanel then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Texas Christian University, which they completed in 2016. In addition, Shanel holds several certifications including the Texas Principal Certificate, English as a Second Language Supplemental Teacher Certification, and Texas Teacher Certification (Early Childhood - 6th Grade).
