Karin Cooney

Karin Cooney is a seasoned financial and operational leader with extensive experience in various roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at Northwest Michigan Health Services, Inc. since August 2022, Karin's previous roles include Director of Finance and Finance and Grants Manager within the same company. Prior to this, Karin held the position of Director of Operations at Grand Traverse Industries. With sixteen years as Executive Director at Angel Care Preschool and Childcare, Karin focused on enhancing access to quality early childhood programs, and an eight-year tenure as Executive Director at AngelWorks cultivated expertise in organizational development and capacity building. Earlier professional experiences include owning a childcare and tax accounting business, as well as roles in accounting and administration at firms such as Sara Lee Frozen Bakery and Empire National Bank. Karin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Western Michigan University, along with an A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education from Northwestern Michigan College.
