Michael Kokott has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry spanning over four decades. Michael started their career in 1978 as a Respiratory professional at KishHealth System. From there, they worked at various hospitals and healthcare facilities, including Michael Reese Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and University of Illinois Hospital, gaining experience in respiratory therapy and clinical coordination.

In 1989, Kokott joined Kishwaukee Community Hospital as the Director of Respiratory Care, and later became the Director of Respiratory and Rehabilitative Services. During their time at Kishwaukee/Valley West Hospitals, where they joined in 1998 as the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Planning, Kokott achieved significant milestones in business development. Michael recruited over 24 physicians, established 13 ambulatory centers, and led successful marketing campaigns in intervention cardiology and interventional radiology/electrophysiology.

In 2017, Kokott joined Northwestern Medicine as the Vice President of Operations, overseeing multiple departments and hospitals within the organization.
