Data Scientist at Nostics

Dr. Duco Blanken has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Currently, they are working as a Data Scientist at Nostics since October 2022. Prior to this, from May 2021 to October 2022, they served as a Research Engineer at Nostics, heading a small team focused on developing novel medical diagnostics. Duco'sresponsibilities included project management, data science/analysis, and occasional lab work.

In 2020, Dr. Blanken worked as a Stability Coordinator at ProQR Therapeutics from December 2020 to April 2021.

From April 2016 to July 2020, they were a PhD student at the Danelon lab at BioNanoScience at TU Delft. Duco'sPhD thesis focused on genetically encoded phospholipid production for autonomous synthetic cell proliferation.

Dr. Blanken also gained industry experience through an internship at Philips Research from November 2015 to March 2016, where they were involved in the micro gas chromatography project and performed experimental work.

Furthermore, they were a Student Assistant at Applied Physics and Life Science and Technology at TU Delft from September 2012 to August 2015. During this time, they also served as Treasurer at SHS Delft, responsible for project budgeting and internal budgeting for the student housing transformation foundation.

Duco'swork experience began in 2008 as an Opruimhulp at Bibliotheek De Kempen.

Duco Blanken, PhD's education history includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their VWO degree in N&T, N&G at Augustinianum Eindhoven from 2003 to 2009. Duco then pursued further education, obtaining a Master's degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology from 2013 to 2016.
