Mingyi Zhao

Mingyi Zhao is an experienced engineering manager currently supporting the Trust Engineering team at Notion, focusing on user authentication and anti-abuse. With a strong foundation in software engineering, Mingyi was the first hire in the Trust Engineering team at Notion and previously worked at TerraTrue, where deep learning models and backend services for privacy-sensitive data processing were developed. As the founder of Sanderling Systems, Mingyi built products aimed at improving the world. Prior experience at Snap Inc. involved building machine learning models and data pipelines to combat bots and spammers, along with contributions to account security measures. Early roles included data research at HackerOne and multiple internships, culminating in a PhD in Information Science and Technology from Penn State University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China.
