Dr. Hristo Iliev

Chief Data Scientist at NOTO - 360 Fraud and Compliance

Dr. Hristo Iliev has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and companies. Dr. is currently serving as the Chief Data Scientist at NOTO - 360 Fraud and Compliance since July 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Researcher R2 at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski from September 2018 to December 2023. Dr. also held the position of Chief Data Scientist at holler.live from February 2018 to July 2020, where they were involved in the development and implementation of data gathering infrastructure and analytics solutions.

Before that, Dr. Iliev worked as an HPC Specialist (Scientific Employee) at RWTH Aachen University from February 2012 to January 2018, specializing in performance modeling and optimization of scientific and engineering codes. Dr. also worked at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski as a Research Physicist from May 2009 to January 2012, where they focused on solving complex physical problems using computer simulations.

Additionally, Dr. Iliev has experience as a Physicist at the Institute of Mechanics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from December 2008 to January 2012, and as a Software Engineer at DAVID Holding from August 2007 to January 2012. Dr. was involved in backend development and porting legacy code in these roles.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Iliev worked as a Software Engineer at BalkanSys Plc from September 2006 to July 2007, contributing to the development of a Linux-based digital video recording appliance. Dr. also served as an HPC consultant at the Institute of Mechanics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from March 2006 to September 2006, building an HPC cluster for computational needs.

Dr. Iliev began their career as a WEB developer at PSIT Group from October 2005 to March 2006. Overall, they have extensive experience in data science, research, HPC, physics, and software engineering.

Dr. Hristo Iliev received their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in 2003. Dr. then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Atomic and Molecular Physics from the same university, which they obtained in 2009. In 2003, Dr. Iliev also completed a High-Performance Computing program at The University of Edinburgh. Additionally, in 2008, they attended The University of Edinburgh for a separate High-Performance Computing and Physics program.
