Rene Kachan

Rene Kachan has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Rene currently holds the position of Head of Finance/Finance Controller - Renewable Fibers Americas at Nouryon since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Finance/Finance Controller - Renewable Fibers South America at the same company from October 2018 to December 2022.

Before joining Nouryon, Rene worked at AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals as the Head of Finance/Finance Controller - Bleaching Chemicals South America from September 2016 to October 2018. Rene also had a brief transition period supported by Lee Hecht Harrison, where they held the role of Finance Director/CFO/Head of Finance/Controller/Senior Finance Manager from May 2016 to September 2016.

From 2007 to 2016, Rene served as CFO/Finance Director/Head of Finance/Controller at Sika Brazil, where they were responsible for Accounting, Treasury, IT, and Legal Departments, reporting to the Country General Manager. Rene was also the legal representative of the company in Brazil during that time.

Rene'searlier experiences include working as a Finance Manager at Hitachi Data System from 2003 to 2006, Administrative and Finance Manager at Diveo do Brasil Telecomunicacoes from 2000 to 2003, and various roles at Wal-Mart Brazil from 1997 to 2000, such as Strategic Planning Manager/Internal Control Manager/Assistant Controller.

Rene started their career as a Business Controller at Rhodia Group, where they worked from 1990 to 1997.

Rene Kachan completed a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Escola de Engenharia Mauá in the years 1985-1989. Following this, from 1991 to 1993, they pursued a Post-graduation in Business Administration from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas. Later, in the years 2004-2006, Rene completed an MBA in Finance from Ibmec.
