Thomas Nicol, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Research Scientist at Nova Pangaea Technologies, where responsibilities include scaling up research and development for lignocellulosic biomass processes and investigating co-products and post-processing methods. Previously, Thomas worked as a Laboratory Scientist, managing a laboratory focused on lignocellulosic compositional analysis, enhancing skills in experimental design and safety. Thomas completed a PhD at the University of York, concentrating on cellulose solutions and molecular interactions underpinned by statistical thermodynamic theory. During a research grant trip to Japan with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, Thomas studied cello-oligomer solubility in electrolyte solutions. Thomas earned an MChem degree in Chemistry from the University of York.
