Martina Cartwright

Martina Cartwright has extensive experience in the medical and education fields. Martina currently holds the position of Vice President, Medical Affairs at Novan, Inc., which they started in December 2021. Prior to this, they served as the President/CEO of Beacon Science, Inc. from September 2011 onwards. Martina has also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at The University of Arizona since 1995. Other notable roles include serving as the Senior Director Medical Affairs at Cassiopea, Inc. from 2017 until December 2021, and as a Senior Scientific Consultant at NICO Inc--Neurosurgery -Oncology from November 2016 to December 2021. In addition, they have held various positions such as Faculty at Scottsdale Community College since January 2012, Contracted Medical Affairs at Anacor Pharmaceuticals Inc-TMAC from September 2015 to October 2016, Director of Clinical Review Teams at SharedClarity from March 2014 to June 2015, and Research Scientist at Eli Lilly from 2001 to 2011. Martina also worked as a Contributing Editor at IDEA Health & Fitness until January 2014.

Martina Cartwright earned their Bachelor of Science degree in 1990 and their Master of Science degree in 1992 from the University of Arizona. Martina then pursued a PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1992 to 1995. Following their PhD, they completed an internship in Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) at the same university in 1996. Martina also obtained the certification of Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in August 1996 from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Prior to their university education, Martina attended Roncalli from 1982 to 1986.
