Jacob Comer

Jacob Comer, Partner, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at NovaQuest Capital Management, has extensive legal and regulatory compliance experience with regulated investment management firms and significant experience structuring and negotiating private investment transactions. He is responsible for overseeing NovaQuest’s legal and compliance activities and also supports the investment team in structuring and negotiating investments and managing contractual risk.

Prior to joining NovaQuest in 2020, Mr. Comer served as general counsel and head of regulatory and compliance for Cipher Technologies Management, a hedge fund firm focused on complex digital asset derivatives trading strategies, and for Altpoint Capital, a global, sector agnostic venture capital firm. Previously, Mr. Comer led legal and compliance for Starr Investment Holdings, a New York-based private equity firm focused principally on technology-enabled healthcare services firms. Mr. Comer began his legal career as an associate in the investment management group of Ropes & Gray LLP, a global law firm.

Mr. Comer earned a BBA, Accounting, summa cum laude, from Marshall University and JD, magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University School of Law.
