Fernando Noriega

Fernando Noriega has extensive experience in the field of clinical development and vaccine research. Fernando has held various leadership roles at Sanofi Pasteur, including Associate Vice President and Global Head of Clinical Franchise. In this role, they were involved in developing strategies for vaccine development and ensuring alignment of business and commercial objectives with clinical and R&D objectives. Fernando also has experience in designing clinical programs with partnership models. Prior to their work at Sanofi Pasteur, Noriega worked at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where they held positions as an Assistant Professor and Instructor. Fernando is currently the Vice President of Clinical Development at Novavax.

Fernando Noriega's education history includes a Medical degree (MD) in Medicine from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, completed from 1973 to 1980. Fernando then pursued a Pediatrics degree at Instituto Nacional de Pediatria from 1981 to 1984. Following that, they obtained a Master's in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University School of Public Health, studied between 1984 and 1986. Later, they completed a Research Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Boston University Medical Center from 1984 to 1988. Finally, they concluded their education with a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine from 1988 to 1990.
