Tala T.

Lab operations associate at nplex biosciences

Tala T. started their work experience in 2017 as an Undergraduate Research Student at Concordia University, where they conducted research on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of eukaryotic aging. Tala investigated the effects of plant extracts on lifespan using yeast S. cerevisiae.

In 2019, they continued their work at Concordia University as a Graduate Research Student, focusing on proteomic analysis of yeast S. cerevisiae to investigate protein phosphorylation patterns and the analysis of lifespan extension in relation to cellular quiescence. Their responsibilities included hands-on lab work such as cell culture, separation techniques, microscopy, and standard proteomic techniques.

During their time as a Graduate Research Student, Tala T. also worked as a Teaching Assistant for various courses, including Genetics and Cell Biology, Fundamental Nutrition, and Cell Biology. Their duties included supervising practical labs, preparing experiments, giving lectures, evaluating student progression, conducting weekly tutorials, preparing quizzes and practice problems, and grading exams and lab reports.

Currently, Tala T. is working at Nomic Bio as a Lab Operations analyst, starting in April 2022. In May 2023, they transitioned to the role of Lab Operations Associate.

Tala T. holds an extensive education history in the field of molecular biology. From 2019 to 2021, Tala pursued a Master's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at Concordia University. Prior to that, Tala completed a Bachelor's degree in the same field at Concordia University, spanning from 2015 to 2019. Tala began their higher education journey at Dawson College, where they obtained a DEC in Social Sciences from 2011 to 2013.
