Andrea de Leon serves as the Northeast Bureau Chief for NPR since March 1999, overseeing the editing of news stories for programs such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered. In this role, Andrea focuses on NPR's coverage of addiction, treatment, and breaking news relevant to the northeastern United States. Prior to this position, Andrea was the News Director at Maine Public Broadcasting Network from 1989 to 1999. Andrea holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts, earned between June 1994 and June 1997, and also attended St. Lawrence University.
