Josh Simon

Josh Simon currently serves as the Plant Manager at NRG Energy's Seward Generating Station, the world’s largest waste coal-fired power plant, providing energy to over 650,000 homes. With extensive experience in power plant operations, Josh previously held roles at GenOn Energy as Plant Manager for both the Cheswick and Brunot Island Stations, ensuring safe and profitable operations. Earlier positions at NRG Energy included Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator, Shift Supervisor, and FGD and Fuels Supervisor, where responsibilities ranged from coordinating maintenance schedules to supervising plant operations and managing safety protocols. Prior to these roles, Josh worked as a Scrubber Engineer at GenOn Energy and as a Lead Field Start-up Engineer at Siemens, focusing on FGD projects. Josh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from West Virginia University.
