Susan Moenga, Ph.D

Susan Moenga, Ph.D. has eight years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Computational Biologist at NuCicer. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ICRISAT. From 2015 to 2020, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis. In 2015, they were a Research Intern at ICRISAT, where they were tasked with characterizing Rhizobia collections from Zambia using microbiology and molecular techniques. In 2014, they were a Visiting Scholar at UC Davis. In 2011, they were a Research Intern at Monsanto for the Water Efficient Maize for Africa program. Susan was also a Student Intern at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in 2011 and a Student Intern at the United Nations in 2010.

Susan Moenga, Ph.D. began their education in 2002 when they obtained their High School Diploma from Alliance Girls High School. Susan then attended Kenyatta University from 2007 to 2011, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biotechnology. Following this, they attended Wageningen University & Research from 2012 to 2014, where they earned their Master of Science (MSc) in Plant Biotechnology. Most recently, they attended the University of California, Davis from 2015 to 2020, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Botany/Plant Biology. In addition, they obtained a Certificate of Program Completion- MRF Startup Collaboration from Momental (formerly Mistletoe) Foundation in June 2020.
