Oscar L. has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2011, they worked as a Student Research Assistant in the Optics Lab at Cal Poly Pomona, where they focused on developing optical sensors and analyzing temperature, strain, and refractive index changes. In 2013, they became an Avid Tutor and Teacher Assistant for the Pomona Unified School District, providing individual and group tutoring to students and serving as a role model. In 2014, they worked as a Tutor and Teacher Assistant at TRIO-USC Upward Bound, where they tutored students in various subjects and taught physics labs. That same year, they also worked as an Instructional Student Assistant Tutor at California State University, Los Angeles, assisting students with math, physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering assignments. In 2015, they joined The Walt Disney Company as a Controls Engineer, responsible for executing control system details of projects and creating designs using ladder logic and structured text. Oscar later became a Controls Systems Technical Specialist, and then a Professional Intern in Design & Engineering. In 2020, they worked as an Automation Controls Engineer at Ormco and later joined Nusano as a Scientific Controls System Engineer.
Oscar L. has a strong educational background in the fields of web development, electrical engineering, and physics. In 2013, they enrolled in California State University, Los Angeles, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering until 2016. Prior to that, they attended California State Polytechnic University-Pomona from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Recently, in 2020, Oscar completed a Full Stack Web Developer program at UCLA Extension, enhancing their skills in web development.
In addition to their academic achievements, Oscar has also obtained certifications outside of traditional education. In December 2020, they completed the "TwinCAT 3: PLC Basics" certification from Beckhoff Automation. Similarly, in July 2020, they obtained the "SOLIDWORKS Electrical" certification from Hawk Ridge Systems. These certifications showcase Oscar's dedication to continuous learning and staying up to date with industry-relevant skills.
