Paul Butchart

Paul Butchart is an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer currently leading the development of primary sensors for NuScale Power, LLC's Small Modular Reactors while conducting hazard analysis for safety control systems. Previous roles include Senior Engineer at Information Systems Laboratories, where evaluations supported the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Control Systems Engineer at Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC, overseeing programming and configuration for control systems. Earlier experience spans positions as Senior Test Engineer at E2 Consulting Engineers, Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at Qualitech Steel, and Electrician at Northstar Steel Inc. A U.S. Navy veteran, Paul Butchart served as a Senior Electronic Technician and Reactor Operator on nuclear submarines. Paul Butchart holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science - Software Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology - Software Engineering from Colorado Technical University.
