Liubomir Popovici

Liubomir Popovici has over 25 years of professional experience in the wine industry. Liubomir began their career in 1995 as a Winemaker at Vinalcool Timisoara. In 1999, they moved to Stoney Ridge Estate Winery as Chief Winemaker, where they managed and directed all production activities from grapes to bottling for a 10k+ case premium winery. Liubomir was in charge of hiring and training for all winery operations and was responsible for the annual production plan. In 2008, they joined Arterra Wines Canada (Constellation Brands) as Senior Winemaker Regional and managed winemaking operations to meet 4M (9L) case annual production in a unionized workforce environment. During their time there, they led initiatives to increase domestic vintage grape intake/processing from 8,000 Metric Tons v07 to 20,000 Metric Tons v17, and reduced bulk inventory in stock for domestic blending component in ICB wines to 12 months resulting in $3M annual savings starting v11. In 2019, they became the Owner - Consultant at Lean Vintner. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Business Consultant at NuVerge, LLC.

Liubomir Popovici earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering from the Universitatea Politehnica din Timișoara between 1989 and 1995. In addition, they have obtained multiple certifications from LinkedIn, including a Six Sigma Black Belt in 2020, Leading Productive Meetings in 2020, Learning Minitab in 2020, Operational Excellence Foundations in 2020, Six Sigma Foundations in 2020, Six Sigma: Black Belt in 2020, Six Sigma: Green Belt in 2020, Statistics Foundations: 2 in 2020, Statistics Foundations: 3 in 2020, B2B Foundations: Social Media Marketing in 2019, and Consulting Foundations in 2019.
