Steven Johnson is the first Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at NVE, Inc. As the Director, Steve has created and implemented numerous EHS programs for NVE corporate and business partners alike. As a retired United States Navy Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman, healthcare provider and experienced project manager, Steve has directed and managed hospital housekeeping services for federal military commands. In addition, Steve has led and continues to successfully lead non-federal agencies in EHS matters, as assigned.
Throughout his career, Steve has provided oversight of facilities in the areas of occupational safety and health, as well as environmental housekeeping services for hospitals, such as Naval Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA; Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD; and Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Steve has a Bachelor’s in Health Care Management from Touro University International. He also received his designation as a Master Environmental Registered Services Executive (MERSE) through the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA). His passion for learning and providing quality services has led him to pursue additional training and certifications, including credentials as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB), as well as occupational safety and health train-the-trainer certifications through OSHAcademy, the Center for Emergency Health Services (CEHS), the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), and the Chesapeake Regional Safety Council. He is affiliated with the National Safety Council (NSC), Chesapeake Region, the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA).
