Ted Smith

Ted Smith is a seasoned software engineer and owner of NXC Systems since January 2019, specializing in embedded systems design across various markets, including audio, medical, and SSD storage solutions. Prior to founding NXC Systems, Ted served as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Western Digital, where leadership in software architecture and team management contributed to a significant Solid State Drive development project. Ted also held a Principal Embedded Software Engineer position at BioFire Diagnostics, focusing on software processes compliant with medical device standards, and worked as a Lead Staff Embedded Software Engineer at HARMAN International, developing embedded systems for professional audio equipment. Earlier in Ted's career, roles as a Senior Firmware Engineer at Iomega and a Firmware Engineer at Western Digital Corp further solidified expertise in software development and architecture. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
