Pennie Markel

Pennie Markel has worked in the IT industry since 1988. Pennie began their career as a Business Analyst at Firestone Industrial Products. In this role, they were the project lead on a green-field SAP implementation in Poland and provided post go-live support for all security changes, role changes and transport management for all development work. In 2011, they moved to Firestone Building Products as the Compliance, Quality and SAP Support Manager, where they managed an onsite SAP support team and 3rd party AMS partner, provided global support for all functional areas of SAP, and had management responsibilities including budgeting, hiring and termination of resources, development of a QA testing team for custom application development, and providing oversight of JSOX compliance processes in the SAP solution. In 2014, they moved to Bridgestone as the Manager of Applications Management, where they managed SAP application support for Bridgestone Americas, across multiple instances of SAP. Activities included management of diverse teams across the globe comprised of on, near, and off shore resources, as well as 3rd party AMS providers. In 2019, they moved to NXT Beyond Inc. as the Manager of Managed Services and Business Readiness.

Pennie Markel received their BS/BIS in Business/Information Systems from the University of Phoenix between 2005 and 2010. Since then, they have obtained three certifications from SAP: SAP Certified Associate - SAP Activate Project Manager in December 2021, SAP Certified Associate - SAP Activate Project Manager in December 2021, and SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement in January 2021.
