Tom Maniatis

Tom Maniatis serves as the Evnin Family Scientific Director and CEO at the New York Genome Center since 2015 and is the Founding Director of the Columbia Precision Medicine Initiative at Columbia University. Additionally, Tom Maniatis holds the position of Isidore S. Edelman Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Previous roles include Jeremy R. Knowles Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Harvard University from 1981 to 2010 and Professor of Biology at Caltech from 1977 to 1981. Early academic positions include Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Harvard University from 1971 to 1977 and Senior Staff Investigator at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Tom Maniatis's educational background includes a PhD in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University, a Master's degree in Biology, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry, both from the University of Colorado.
