Jim Kyriannis

Jim Kyriannis serves as the Chief Technology Officer at NYSERNet, a non-profit organization focused on enhancing the research and educational capabilities of its members through advanced data and networking technology solutions since August 2018. Prior to this role, Jim spent over two decades at New York University, progressing through various technology leadership positions, including Program Director of Technology Architecture, where significant contributions were made to strategic research programs and secure networking strategies. As Acting Chief Technology Officer and Senior Technology Architect, Jim led technology deployment for the Abu Dhabi campus, ensuring a cohesive global technology experience. Earlier roles included Manager of Network Services, where early deployments of IPv6 were executed, and Associate Network Manager, overseeing the development of a comprehensive network infrastructure. Jim's career began at The Public Health Research Institute, where Jim managed an MIS department and developed innovative financial systems. Educational qualifications include Bachelor's and Master's degrees from New York University, one in Chemistry and the other in Computer Science.
