Joseph Kaz is an accomplished music educator and composer with extensive experience in both academic and community settings. Currently serving as the Music Department Head at Nysmith School since August 2022, Joseph has also directed the Chorister Program and performed as a staff singer at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church since August 2018. Joseph's freelance work as a composer has been ongoing since August 2016, alongside previous roles as a music teacher at Columbia Academy Elementary and Middle School until June 2022, and as a vocational specialist at Cape Abilities from November 2020 to July 2021. Additional experiences include leadership positions in various church music programs and instructional roles at The Catholic University of America, where Joseph taught courses in music theory and ear training. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Ithaca College and a Master's degree in Music Theory and Composition from The Catholic University of America.
