Debarati Bhanja

Debarati Bhanja, MD, is a Neurosurgery Resident Physician at NYU Langone Health, starting in June 2024. Prior to this role, Debarati served as a Clinical Researcher at Biomotivate from December 2018 to May 2024, focusing on a single-center clinical study in the opioid addiction space, funded by an NIH SBIR Grant. Debarati also held the position of NIH/CTSI Translational Science Fellow at Penn State College of Medicine, contributing to a NIH grant project in summer 2021. Previous experience includes being a Healthcare Research Associate at Guidepoint, conducting market analyses for pharmaceutical clients, and various research internships at institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Debarati earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Penn State College of Medicine from 2020 to 2024 and a Bachelor's Degree in Neurobiology and Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University from 2015 to 2019.
