Derek Wardlaw

Derek is Vice President and Head of Business Development at O2 Investment Partners. He is responsible for leading the firm’s sourcing and origination efforts.

​Prior to joining O2, Derek was Vice President of Business Development with Boyne Capital, a Middle Market private equity firm in Miami, where he was responsible for identifying investment opportunities and managing the firms outreach efforts for over four years.

Prior to this, Derek spent more than seven years in London and Miami with H.I.G. Capital as Director of Business Development. There, he focused on proprietary deal origination, non-core carve outs and corporate divestitures. Prior to this, he was CEO for World Relief’s European Microfinance business in Kosovo.

Derek received his BS in Mathematics from Samford University in Birmingham, AL and his MBA from the George Washington University School of Business in Washington DC with a concentration in International Business.
