Alexis Ballinger currently serves as a Neighborhood Law Corps Attorney and Bridge Fellow at the Oakland City Attorney's Office, beginning in October 2023. Previous experience includes a role as a Legal Services Funders Network Fellow at Communities United for Restorative Youth Justice from May 2023 to December 2023, as well as a Legal Intern in the Administrative Law Judge Division at the California Public Utilities Commission, where contributions included producing a revised Commission Resolution and drafting a manual for Administrative Law Judges. Alexis has also worked as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Support Facilitator with Teach For America, and held positions as a Student Attorney at UC Hastings Community Justice Clinics, a Law Clerk at the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and a Summer Legal Intern at Marin County Public Defender. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (2023), and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (2014).
