Martha Cardenas is a dedicated attorney currently serving as a Neighborhood Law Corps Attorney at the Oakland City Attorney's Office since March 2022, where efforts focus on combating social, environmental, and economic injustices in the Oakland community. Previous experience includes a Legal Fellow role at the Public Rights Project, as well as working with the East Bay Community Law Center as a Housing Clinical Student, where Martha drafted legal motions and argued in court. Martha has also gained valuable insights through various fellowships with the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association at multiple law firms, and earlier legal internships and administrative roles in immigration and contract management. Martha earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, following a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Ethnic Studies from the same university.
