Dulcemaria Rincon

Hispanic Studies Department Teacher Assistant/tutor at Oberlin College

Dulcemaria Rincon is a dedicated student at Oberlin College, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative American Studies, Latin American Studies, and Hispanic Studies, expected to graduate in May 2025. Currently serving as a Resident Assistant for the Latinx Heritage House since August 2022, Dulcemaria creates and organizes community-building events while addressing residents' concerns. As a Teacher Assistant and Tutor in the Hispanic Studies Department, Dulcemaria enhances students' conversation skills through weekly discussion groups and personalized sessions. Experience as a Radio Talk Show Host for WOBC-FM since January 2023 involves discussions on Latinx identities and social issues. Additional internships with VOCEL provided opportunities for engagement with families and programming evaluation. Dulcemaria also served as a Transition Coach for Let's Get Ready, assisting high school seniors with the college application process. Prior education includes an International Baccalaureate Diploma from DePaul College Prep School.
