Carey Schroeder, MBA, CPA has a wealth of experience in accounting, finance, and financial/SEC reporting. Carey has held roles at Oblong Inc., Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc., miRagen Therapeutics, Inc., Lakeshore, Black Diamond Financial Group, and Roomlinx since 2007.

At Oblong Inc., Schroeder held the role of Corporate Controller, a BOD facing Director role responsible for management and oversight of accounting, finance, and financial/SEC reporting functions; management of fiscal procedures and controls; technical accounting; and risk management. At miRagen Therapeutics, Inc., Schroeder held the role of Corporate Controller, a BOD facing role responsible for management and oversight of accounting, and financial/SEC reporting functions; management of fiscal procedures, technical accounting, internal controls, and risk management. Carey reported to the CFO with three direct reports and five indirect reports.

At Lakeshore, Schroeder held the role of Controller, responsible for management and oversight of accounting department; creating and managing fiscal procedures and controls; cash management and banking relationships; maintaining business licenses and tax licenses in thirty-one states; maintaining insurance coverage and policies; and financial reporting. Carey reported to the CEO with three direct reports.

At Black Diamond Financial Group, Schroeder held the role of Director of Financial Reporting, responsible for the financial reporting of fifteen companies, including SEC reporting for two public companies; managing year end audits and quarterly reviews with external CPA’s; and managing financial due diligence during the acquisition and/or merger of companies.

At Roomlinx, Schroeder held the role of VP - Controller, where they brought the company current in SEC reporting by completing three and half years of reviews, audits, and reports in sixteen months; implemented a serialized inventory system and procedures; and implemented a change in accounting software from Microsoft Small Business Accounting to Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains.

Carey Schroeder, MBA, CPA has a comprehensive educational background. Carey earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Regis University from 2004 to 2010. Subsequently, they obtained a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Regis University from 2012 to 2014. In addition, they are a Certified Public Accountant, certified by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
